
Meghan Fardelmann Named to U.S. Women's Select Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Junior forward Meghan Fardelmann has been named to the 22-player U.S. Women's Select Team that will compete in the Women's Four Nations Cup in Leksand, Sweden on Nov. 7-11. The team will take the ice against Sweden, Canada and Finland.
Early in the 2007 season, Fardelmann has already tallied three points. She scored the game-tying goal in the 2-1 overtime win against Rensselaer on Oct. 7 and scored a goal and recorded an assist in the 3-0 home-opener shutout of Colgate on Oct. 12.
New Hampshire Wildcat Kacey Bellamy joins Fardelmann on the team as the only other Hockey East player. The roster also includes eight Olympians, and 14 returnees from the 2007 U.S. Women's National Team that won the silver medal at the International Hockey Federation World Women's Championship in Winnipeg and Selkirk, Man.
Fardelmann was one of six BC players to participate in the 2007 Women's National Festival in Lake Placid, N.Y. She was the top scorer in the festival, tallying five points (2g, 3a). She was also selected to the 2007 Women's Under-22 Select Team, who lost to Canada in a three-game series over the summer.
Fardelmann has 35 goals and 25 assists in her career as an Eagle. Her 2006-07 accolades include the Beanpot MVP, three-time Hockey East Player of the Week, New England Hockey Journal's Player of the Week, Hockey East Honorable Mention All-Star and she was named to the Hockey East All-Academic team.
Boston College will try to improve its 3-0-0 record against Princeton on Friday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. in Princeton, N.J. The Eagles has yet to tally a win against the Tigers in their 19 all-time meetings.
