Laura Georges To Play in Exhibition

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - Boston College senior defender Laura Georges will play in an exhibition game on Sunday, April 22 in Wuhan, China for the FIFA Women's World Stars team. Laura is one of 18 international women soccer stars to play in the exhibition match against the Chinese Women's National Team.
The showcase match is an event surrounding festivities involved in the final draw of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2007 in China.
Most of the players invovled in the exhibition match are from teams that have already qualified for the final competition. Georges plays for the French National team, which did not qualify for the cup competition.
Georges, who was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year, will play alongside goalkeepers Rachel Brown (England), Bente Nordby (Norway); defenders, Monica Gonzalez (Mexico), Katrine Pederson (Denmark), Cheryl Salisbury (Australia), Hiromi Isozaki (Japan) and Adjoa Bayor (Ghana). The midfield will be made up of USA legend Kristine Lilly, Marta (Brazil), Lotta Schelin (Sweden), Christine Sinclair (Canada), Mariela Coronel (Argentina) and Mia Jackman (New Zealand). The forwards for the World Stars are Kum Suk Ri (Korea DPR), Cynthia Uwak (Nigeria), Birgit Prinz (Germany) and Portia Modise (So. Africa).
