"Andrew Simmons raced to his best result in a carnival yet, finishing third in the slalom and winning the first run," head coach Peter Endres said. "Andrew is capable of fast skiing, so it was nice to see him rewarded with this result. Stephen Fiorella and Gregory Avallon also had great results, and Hugh Kirkpatrick and Benjamin Moloney both skied well to bring the men very close to a win in the slalom. In the giant slalom, again Fiorella, Simmons and Avallon skied very well. I was also very impressed with having eight guys in the top 20. It was a very solid day for the men."
After earning four points this weekend, the Eagles sit in second place in the ECSC with 12 points, just one point more than conference-leading University of Massachusetts.
The men's ski team returns to the slopes on Friday, Feb. 2 for the Brown University Carnival in Wachusett, MA.
