
Peter Harrold Earns Academic All-America Honors

Boston College senior captain Peter Harrold has earned 2005-06 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Third Team At-Large recognition, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
The At-Large program for the Academic All-America program includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.
Harrold, a 5-foot-11-inch defenseman, played in all 42 games during his senior season this past winter. He posted career highs in goals (seven), assists (23) and points (30) en route to first-team All-America honors as well as Hockey East's Best Defensive Defenseman award.
A native of Kirtland Hills, Ohio, Harrold finished his collegiate career with 70 points - 14 goals and 56 assists - in 156 games. He helped guide the Eagles to NCAA Tournament appearances in each of his four seasons at BC, including trips to the Frozen Four in 2004 and 2006.
Off the ice, Harrold earned his bachelor's degree in history. He captured Hockey East All-Academic Team recognition three times, was awarded Boston College's Senior Male Scholar-Athlete Award in 2006 and earned BC's Sophomore Male Scholar-Athlete Award in 2004.
Harrold signed a two-year contract with the Los Angeles Kings at the conclusion of Boston College's 2005-06 season.
