Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College women's soccer head coach Alison Foley recently posted a blog on the Double-A Zone (www.doubleazone.com). The blog is featured in the Coaches' Corner where Foley discusses the importance of balancing academics and athletics while on the road.
Former Boston College athletic media relations intern Josh Centor runs the NCAA's blog. The Double-A Zone is the official blog of the NCAA and is an open forum for discussions to take place about issues in intercollegiate athletics. From weekly interviews with NCAA President Myles Brand to guest posts from student-athletes, the Double-A Zone offers a number of features to keep people informed about the pressing issues of the day. The latest feature introduced on the blog is Coaches' Corner, which introduces a different coach from across the country each week who discusses his or her own experiences and thoughts about college sports.
In their inaugural season in the Atlantic Coast Conference the Eagles recorded a 13-6-2 overall record and a 5-4-1 mark in the ACC. In the final NSCAA poll of the season, Boston College ranked 10th in the nation. This is the highest finish for the women's program in the NSCAA final poll. The program returns 10 starters in 2006.
