Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College women's tennis team was swept by No. 25 Virginia, 7-0 at Chestnut Hill, Mass.
No. 114 Lana Krasnopolsky squared off with No. 105 Kristen James from UVA, dropping a hard-faught, three set match 4-6, 7-6, 10-8. It was the closest the Eagles would get on the singles side, as BC played without No. 1 Szilvia Szegedi and the Cavaliers won each of the six singles matches.
On the doubles side, Lindsey Nash and Sarah Svoboda nearly picked up a win, losing 8-7 to Caroline Hammond and Amanda Rales. However, UVA was able to win all three and earn the doubles point for the sweep.
BC will finish the regular season Sunday at 10 a.m. at home against Virginia Tech.
