
Women's Tennis Defeats Boston University, 4-3

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College women's tennis team split the six singles matches, but earned the victory by taking two of three in doubles to defeat crosstown rival Boston University, 4-3.
Lana Krasnopolsky and Dasha Cherkasov handled BU's No. 1 doubles tandem of Monica Shepherd and Gina Sabatino, 8-3, while Szilvia Szegedi and Alina Sullivan earned an 8-5 victory to take the deciding point from the Terriers.
On the singles side, BC's top three were all winners. Cherkasov played No. 1 singles in the absence of Szegedi and filled in admirably, winning 6-1, 6-2 over Sabatino. Krasnopolsky grabbed a 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 comeback won over Erin Katims and Sullivan finished off the Terriers with a 7-6 (5), 6-4 win over Laura Ahmes.
The Eagles will next face No. 25 UVA Thursday at 1 p.m. in Chestnut Hill.
