Men's Tennis Grabs Two Wins

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College men's tennis team earned two impressive wins, taking down Manhattan 5-2, and sweeping Quinnipiac 7-0 at the Flynn Recreational Complex.
In the opening match against Manhattan, Jason Sechrist keyed the victory for the Eagles by defeating the No. 8 ranked player in the region, Zoltan Bus 6-4, 6-7, 6-4. Soma Kesthely finished off the No. 20 player in the region, Bogdan Borta 6-4, 7-6. Freshmen Brian Hartness and Michael Reiser picked up straight set wins in singles play as well.
The Eagles also earned a point by sweeping the doubles side. Alex Rastorgouev and Dennis Reardon earned a hard-fought 9-7 win, while the tandems of Hartness/Sechrist and Kesthely and Sam Wagner finished off their opponents 8-5 and 8-6 respectively.
In the second match of the evening, the Eagles rolled through Quinnipiac, 7-0 winning each singles match in straight sets. Freshman Zach Wolfe earned his first win of the season, while Kesthley remained undefeated on the 2006 campaign.
BC swept the doubles side as well, with the tandems of Kesthley/Wagner, Sechrist/Hartness and Geoff Mueller and Rastorguev cruising to victories.
The Eagles return to action next weekend with a trip to St. Joseph's Friday, and Rutgers on Saturday.
