Four Field Hockey Players Earn All-ACC Academic Honors

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Atlantic Coast Conference has announced its 2005 All-ACC Academic Field Hockey team and Boston College's freshman Bob Dirks, sophomore Brenna Leahy and seniors Kristen Madden and Meg Palisoul earned a spot on the team.
In order to be eligible for the All-ACC team, each student-athlete must have upheld a 3.00 cumulative grade point average and for the semester.
In addition to her academic accomplishments, Madden, an accounting major, also earned All-American status and All-ACC honors for her athletic accomplishments. She scored a team-high 32 points, and tallied 12 goals and a team-best eight assists.
Dirks, a management major, scored 11 goals, five assists for 27 points and one game-winning goal. Leahy, a communications major from Windham, N.H., started all 20 games for the Eagles' backline. Palisoul recorded three assists playing as a defenseman in 2005, and is a psychology major.
