Men's Ski Team Takes Third Place in Giant Slalom

SUNAPEE, N.H. - The Boston College men's ski team finished third in the giant slalom competition on the first day of the Colby-Sawyer Carnival. Junior Greg Avallon paced the Eagles with his fifth-place finish, posting a time of 1 minute, 14.51 seconds.
The men's team heads into the second day of the Colby-Sawyer Carnival in fourth place in the Eastern College Ski Conference (ECSC) standings. BC trails third-place Massachusetts by four points.
Junior Thatcher Merrill finished 12th overall, posting a time of 1:15.52. Freshman Andrew Simmons raced to a 16th-place finish, finishing the race in 1:16.50. Sophomore Shawn Radman and senior Peter Bohlin finished 20th and 21st, respectively, in Sunapee, N.H.
Boston College finished with an overall team time of 380.87 seconds in the giant slalom event, finishing 6.77 seconds behind top-finisher Colby-Sawyer. Massachusetts finished second, overall, while Plymouth State and Babson rounded out the top five.
The men's ski team completes their final regular-season competition with the Colby-Sawyer Carnival's slalom event on Saturday, Feb. 18 in Pat's Peak, N.H.
