Women's Skiing Finishes Fourth at Boston College Carnival

ASCUTNEY, Vt. - The Boston College women's ski team finished fourth in the slalom and giant slalom competitions of the Boston College carnival on Saturday, Feb. 11 and Sunday, Feb. 12. Ski slopes in Acustney received over one foot of snow before Sunday afternoon's giant slalom race, as a winter snowstorm moved into New England late Saturday night.
Junior Kara Hoisington led the Eagles with an eighth-place finish in slalom competition on Saturday, posting a time of 1 minute 46.54 seconds. Sophomore Keegan Garnsey and senior Alexandra Grimley finished 16th and 18th, respectively.
BC collected a total time of 332.52 seconds in the slalom race, finishing behind Plymouth State, Colby-Sawyer and Brown, respectively.
In Sunday' giant slalom event, juniors Courtney Culnane and Courtney Hollis both finished in the top 10. Culnane finished seventh, posting a total time of 124.58 seconds. Hollis' earned a ninth-place finish, racing in 124.88 seconds. Colby-Sawyer, Massachusetts and Plymouth State lined the top three, finishing within 1.02 seconds of each other.
The women's ski team remains in first place in the Eastern Collegiate Ski Conference (ECSC). BC maintains a two-point advantage over Massachusetts and a four-point lead over Colby-Sawyer.
The women's ski team returns to action on Friday, Feb. 17, at the Colby-Sawyer Carnival in Sunapee, N.H. Saturday's slalom competition will take place in Pat's Peak, N.H.
