NEWISA Honors Seven Women's Soccer Players

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - Seven players from the Boston College women's soccer team were named to the NEWISA All-New England team. Boston College finished the season at 12-7-3 and reached the round of Sweet 16 for the third straight season.
The NEWISA honored 29 players in the region and Boston College place six on the first-team and one on the second-team.
BC defenders Laura Georges, Mary Schneck and Caroline Walden were honored along with midfielder Jenny Maurer, forwards Kia McNeill and Gina DiMartino.
Georges, Schneck and Walden were mainstays on the Eagles defense. Maurer, who was named to the first-team All-ACC, was the fourth leading scorer with four goals and seven assists for 15 points. McNeill was the No. 2 scorer for the Eagles with 10 goals and seven assists for 27 points. DiMartino, the ACC Freshman of the Year, led the team in scoring with 13 goals and five assists for 31 points.
Freshman midfielder Kelly Henderson was named to the second-team. Henderson opened the season in the back and eventually moved to the midfield. She finished the season with four goals and seven assists for 15 points.
The Eagles finished the season 11th in the final NSCAA poll. Boston College advanced to the round of 16 with victories over Boston University and Rutgers.
