Georges, Maurer and DiMartino Honored by NSCAA

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - Three Boston College women soccer players were honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) this week. Senior Laura Georges, Jenny Maurer and freshman Gina DiMartino were all named to the NSCAA All-Northeast Regional team. Georges and Maurer earned first-team honors, while DiMartino was a third-team selection.
Georges, a senior defender, also earned her second consecutive third-team All-American honor from the NSCAA. Along with the first-team Northeast Region selection, Georges was the 2006 ACC Defensive Player of the Year and was a first-team All-ACC selection.
Senior Jenny Maurer was also named to the NSCAA first-team All-Northeast Region team. Maurer started every game for four seasons with the Eagles. She finished her career with 13 goals, 24 assists for 50 points. A native of East Longmeadow, Maurer earned first-team All-ACC honors and CoSIDA Academic All-American honors this past season.
Freshman Gina DiMartino was a third-team All-Northeast Region selection. The Eagles forward earned ACC Rookie of the Year and is a finalist for SoccerBuzz Magazine Rookie of the Year. DiMartino led the Eagles in scoring with 13 goals and five assists for 31 points.
