
Harvard Stuns Women's Basketball At Home

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - The Boston College women's basketball team suffered a 68-58 loss to Harvard at Conte Forum.
The Eagles are now 9-4 and will host the University of Massachusetts on Sunday, December 31st at 1 p.m. Harvard is now 2-10 and will travel to Providence on Sunday for a 2 p.m. game.
Harvard's Christina Lackner finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Lindsay Hallion added 18. Boston College was led by Elisabeth Egnell with 15 points, while Ayla Brown and Kathrin Ress each had 11 points. Ress notched her ninth career double-double with 12 rebounds.
The Eagles fell behind 6-0 to start of the game. BC came back behind five points and seven rebounds from Kathrin Ress. Boston College biggest lead of the half, 20-16, came at 6:14 when Sarah Marshall, Ayla Brown and Beth Egnell scored on two turnovers by Harvard.
Boston College led at the half, 31-22, when four different players scored in the final two minutes of play. Ress finished the half with seven points and eight rebounds while Egnell had nine.
The Crimson tied the game at 37-37 at the 13:13 mark on a reverse lay-up by Emily Tay. The Eagles turned the ball over three times and went scoreless for over three minutes in the Crimson run.
The two teams exchanged baskets and Harvard went up 44-42 for the first time in the half when Emma Moretzsohn hit a bucket in the key at 9:33. After a miss by Egnell, the Crimson went up by five on a 3-pointer by Lindsay Hallion at the 8:39 m ark. Harvard pulled away as the closest the Eagles came was 53-48 when Sarah Marshall stole in inbounds pass and scored a lay-up at 5:21 in the half.
