Chestnut Hill, Mass.--Freshman Kelli Stack (Brooklyn Heights, Ohio) received Mission Rookie of the Week honors as announced by Women's Hockey East late Monday. Stack recorded two points to help the Eagles (11-4-1, 6-3-0) rebound from back-to-back losses and beat Northeastern, 7-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Stack was part of Boston College's five-goal second period on Saturday, registering the assist on the Eagles' fourth goal of the afternoon. She also capped off the second period, and put the game out of reach from the Huskies, with a shorthanded goal at 19:29. Stack was on ice for four of Boston College's seven goals for a +4 rating.
At the season's half-way mark, Stack leads the team with 14 assists, also good for second in the league. The freshman has notched four goals and is second on the team with 18 points.
This is Stack's first award from Hockey East this season. On November 25, Stack was the only Eagle named to the All-Tournament team at the UNH Thanksgiving Tournament.
The Eagles recorded their best start in program history through 16 games as they head into the holiday break. Boston College will pick up its sticks again when the team travels to Hanover, N.H. to face Dartmouth College on December 31 at 1:00 p.m.
