Chestnut Hill, Mass.--Women's Hockey East named freshman Molly Schaus (Natick, Mass.) ITECH Goalie of the Month for November on Friday. Schaus received Rookie of the Month for October and has earned one of the league's weekly honors three times this season.
Schaus continued to dominate in net for the Eagles as she did in October, kicking off the month with a 38 save performance on 40 shots in Boston College's 7-2 upset of second-ranked New Hampshire in Conte Forum on November 2. The netminder stopped 30 or more shots twice more in the remaining five games, including against rival Boston University (31) and third-ranked Mercyhurst (32).
In November, Schaus compiled a 5-1-0 record and .910 save percentage against teams with a combined overall record of 50-29-5.
Two other freshmen, forwards Allie Thunstrom (Maplewood, Minn.) and Megan Keever (Harrisburg, Pa.) were runners-up for the Mission Rookie of the Month. Each recorded eight points during six games in November.
Boston College is 10-2-1 overall and 5-1-0 in league action. The Eagles host the UConn Huskies on Saturday, December 2 at 2:00 p.m. and then will travel to Providence the next day for a 2:00 p.m. face-off against the Friars.
