Three Women's Soccer Players Honored by NEWISA

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - Boston College women's soccer had three players selected to compete in the NEWISA (New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association) Senior Bowl. The Eagles will be represented by Jenny Maurer, Laura Georges and Molly Dane.
The NEWISA honors four year players from Division I, II and III throughout New England. The players honored will play a match on Sunday, Dec. 3 at Merrimack College for a noon kickoff. The rosters for the match will consist of players from colleges across New England.
Maurer, a senior midfielder, received the most votes at the midfield position for the game. Maurer, a first-team All ACC selection, finished the season with four goals and seven assists for 15 points.
Georges, a senior defender, is a finalist for the Player of the Year by SoccerBuzz Magazine and for the 2006 M.A.C. Hermann Trophy Award. A member of the French National Team, Georges is also a finalist for the 2006 FIFA Women's Player of the Year. She was also the ACC's Defender of the Year.
Dane, a senior forward, played four seasons for the Eagles. She started her career on defense as a freshman and sophomore. This season she supplied a spark off the bench. She finished the season with two goals and one assist for five points.
