Jenny Maurer and Heather Ferron Earn Academic Honors

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - Boston College women's soccer team placed two players on the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District women's soccer team. Senior Jenny Maurer and Heather Ferron were both named to the District 1 second-team as announced by CoSIDA today.
Maurer, a native of East Longmeadow, MA, is a four-year starter for the Eagles. She has not missed a start in four years and has amassed 13 goals and 24 assists for 50 career points. Maurer, who is an education and human development major, was recently named to the All-ACC first-team and was a member of the 2005 All-ACC Academic team. She also was honored by CoSIDA as a sophomore and received the Athletic Director's Award for Academic Achievement as a junior.
Ferron, a native of Brookfield, Wis., has been a member of the team for four years. This midfielder has played in 73 games and started 62 for the Eagles. A math and physics major, Ferron has eight goals and 13 assists for 29 career points. This is the second time Ferron has been honored by CoSIDA, as she was named to the All-Academic team as a sophomore. She was also received the Athletic Director's Award for Academic Achievement as a junior.
