
Women's Tennis Competes At ITA Regional Championships

Hanover, N.H. - Sophomores Lana Krasnopolsky and Alina Sullivan both earned upset wins at the ITA Regional Championships at Dartmouth College this weekend.
In a field of 128 players, Krasnopolsky defeated the No.2 overall seed, Inga Beermann of Virginia Tech, in impressive fashion, 6-1, 6-3. Sullivan took out the No. 20 seed, Michele Spiess from UMass-Amherst, 6-4, 6-3, before falling to the No. 4 overall seed from ACC foe Maryland.
Sophomore Dasha Cherkasov has also earned a pair of wins for the Eagles. Cherkasov defeated Julija Korsunova of Farleigh Dickinson, 6-4, 6-2 and Erin Katims of BU, 6-0, 6-0 before falling to the No.1 overall seed, Kellie Schmitt from Marshall University.
After taking out the No.18 seed, Stephanie Schnitter of Harvard, Krasnopolsky lost a tough three-setter, 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-1 to the No. 7 seed, Melissa Saiontz of Princeton.
In doubles action, the tandem of Lana Krasnopolsky and Alina Sullivan advanced to the round of 16. Krasnopolsky and Sullivan defeated Jessica DeCarlos and Ksenia Chernyshova of Fairleigh Dickinson as well as Carolina Huignard and Ashley Lipton of
