The second half, Virginia had an early corner kick but a shot off the cross by Jess Rostedt was turned away by Buonomo at 56:52. DiMartino almost got No. 2 in the match when she was on the other end of another Hiler corner kick. This time the Virginia goalkeeper Christina de Vries came up with the save at 70:02.
Eight minutes later Virginia had a chance to even the score but Buonomo made another stop on Rostedt. Buonomo (5-3-1) finished the match with five saves and earned her fifth shutout of the season, while the de Vries for Virginia had one save and is now 9-5-2 on the year.
