Women's Tennis Earns Sweep of Dartmouth in Season Opener

Hanover, N.H. - Three freshmen earned their first-ever collegiate wins as the Boston College women's tennis team swept Dartmouth in Hanover, N.H
Dasha Cherkasov was a two set winner over Megan Zebroski in her first-ever match, while fellow freshmen Lana Krasnopolsky and Alina Sullivan also picked up their first wins.
Szilvia Szegedi began her senior campaign with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Lindsay Winingham. Sophomore Gia Nafarrete lost the first set of her match, but battled back to earn a 1-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory. Lindsey Nash rounded out the top six with a win over Ann Scott.
On the doubles side, the freshmen tandem of Krasnopolsky and Cherkasov won 8-6, while Szegedi and Sullivan won by the same margin. The veteran duo of Nash and Nafarrete fell 8-1 for the lone Eagles loss on the day.
The Eagles return to action Saturday February 4 at home against Columbia at 10 a.m.
