
Men's Swimming and Diving Falls To Tufts

Medford, Mass. - The Boston College men's swim team ran into a powerful Tufts University squad Tuesday night, as the Jumbos broke a number of pool records on its way to downing the Eagles, 192.5-155.5, at Hamilton Pool in Meford, Mass.
The Eagles swam well in the sprint breaststroke events. David Lin notched a personal best time in the 100 breaststroke, taking the victory with a 1:02.20. Robert Swaninger won the 50 breaststroke with a 28.42, just ahead of runner-up Lin's 28.58. Sophomore Colin Scott also earned a first place finish in the 200-yard individual medley.
Andrew Faughnan continued his strong season by performing well in his three individual events. Faughnan finished second in the 50-yard butterfly (24.80) and 100-yard butterfly (54.70), and third in the 200 yard freestyle (1:46.32). He capped off his evening by swimming the opening leg of the winning 400-yard freestyle relay team. Daniel Kollar, Matt Northrup and Jeffrey Benson contributed to the winning time of 3:15.06.
Christopher Wilson-Byrne was the top performer for the Eagles capturing first in the one and three meter diving events.
The Eagles will return to the Flynn Recreation Complex this Saturday, January 21, versus UMass at 1:00 pm.
