CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. - The Boston College field hockey team will be playing its inaugural season as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference on a new turf field.
The Eagles' first home game is a September 4 contest against Kent State (1:00 p.m.). Boston College will open ACC play on September 17 when it hosts Maryland (11:00 a.m.). The team is scheduled to open the 2005 campaign with an August 30 game at Massachusetts (7:00 p.m.). Before christening their new field, the Eagles will also travel to MIT in Cambridge for a 6:00 p.m. tilt with Boston University on September 2.
In a construction project currently nearing completion at the school's Newton campus, the Astroturf field - located adjacent to Boston College's soccer field - will include a digital scoreboard, a raised press/scoreboard area, a sports lighting system, a 750-seat bleacher area, and surrounding landscaping.
