Freshmen Lead Way At Solomon Husky Invitational

Boston College had the first three finishers in the 1,500 meters at the Solomon Husky Invitational in Boston, Mass. on Saturday as three freshmen led the Eagles in the non-scoring event.
Frank DiVittorio won the event with a mark of 3 minutes, 51.97 seconds and qualified for the IC4A and Big East Championships. Classmates Jeremy Zagorski and Patrick Mellea followed close behind with times of 3:52.22 and 3:52.83, respectively, and also qualified for the Big East Championships.
Adam Moitoso won the 10,000 meters with a mark of 32:02.43. The freshman finished nearly 10 seconds in front of the second-place finisher from Providence.
Freshman Dan Springer came in second in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:31.94. Senior Daniel MacIsaac finished second in the 800, coming in at 1:57.99, a little more than half a second off the pace and just in front of third-place finisher Daniel LaFave.
Senior co-captain Ashley Jefferson led the way for BC in the field events, winning the triple jump with a mark of 42 feet, 11.75 inches. Jefferson jumped nearly a foot more than the second-place finisher.
