Women's Lacrosse Falls To Rutgers In Overtime, 11-10

Piscataway, N.J. - The Boston College women's lacrosse team fell, 11-10 in overtime, to Rutgers in Big East action on Friday night in Piscataway, N.J. Senior Susie Breaznell led the way for the Eagles with four goals.
In the first half, BC (1-1, 0-1) trailed 2-0 in the first two minutes. At 21:32 Elizabeth Kadison led a BC offensive charge where it scored three straight goals. Susie Breaznell and Lizette Blohm tallied goals during the Eagle run.
At 15:08 Rutgers (1-2, 1-0) evened the score at three. The Eagles broke away from the lock with three consecutive goals. Breaznell scored first, while Kadison followed with two goals. Jackie Yovankin assisted on a Kadison score.
Rutgers added one goal before the half, to cut the Eagle lead to two. BC headed into halftime with a 6-4 advantage. BC goalie Tara McKennett made four saves in the first half.
In the second half, Rutgers cut the BC lead to one. The Eagles responded by extending its lead to three when Courtney Legath connected off a pass from Carley St. Lucia, and Blohm added her second goal of the game.
The Scarlet Knights answered with three straight goals to force overtime.
In the extra session, Rutgers scored first to take a 10-9 edge with just over four minutes remaining. BC tied the score when Breaznell netted her fourth goal of the game, but 29 seconds later the Scarlet Knights notched the gamewinner.
McKennett finished the game with seven saves for the Eagles. Blohm and Yovankin each won a team-high four draw controls on the night.
