Women's Fencing Takes Second At New England Collegiate Championships

Cambridge, Mass. - The Boston College women's fencing team finished second at the New England Collegiate Championships this weekend at MIT. Four fencers placed in the individual events to score points for the Eagles.
BC finished with 77 victories, while MIT had 82 on the day. Tufts took third place with 71 victories. In the combined competition with the men's team, the Eagles also took second to MIT with 145 victories.
In the sabre competition, the Eagles tied for second place with 27 points. BC's best team results came in the epee event where the Eagles tied for first with Brown.
In the individual epee competition, Tiffany White took third place and Clara Yum earned fourth.
The Eagles also found success in the sabre bouts. Jane Leahy and Ali DiQuollo finished fifth and seventh, respectively.
BC will travel to Brown University next weekend to compete in the IFA Championships.
