Men's Fencing Takes Second At New England Collegiate Championships

Cambridge, Mass. - The Boston College men's fencing team finished second at the New England Collegiate Championships this weekend at MIT. Five fencers placed in the individual events to score points for the Eagles.
BC finished with 68 victories, while MIT had 72 on the day. Brown and Brandeis tied for third with 66 points. In the combined competition with the women's team, the Eagles also took second to MIT with 145 victories.
The Eagles sabre squad had the most success on the day. BC took second with 22 points.
BC also looked strong in the individual competitions. In the epee event, Sam Richardson turned in the highest individual performance for the Eagles with a second place finish. Alex Rios and Jon Tong came in behind Richardson in the event.
In the sabre competition, Andy Lee and Steve Koza finished sixth and seventh, respectively.
BC will travel to Brown University next weekend to compete in the IFA Championships.
