Lindsey Nash needed five match points, but the sophomore's resolve came through as she led the Boston College women's tennis team to a 4-3 win over Princeton on Saturday.
Nash defeated Darcy Robertson 6-3, 7-6 (3), at No. 3 singles to give the Eagles (3-3) the decisive fourth point of the match.
The win is BC's third against an Ivy League opponent this season and the Eagles have now won nine consecutive matches against teams from that conference dating back to 2002-03. BC also improves to 3-0 in the Northeast region with the victory.
Junior Szilvia Szegedi had an impressive afternoon for BC, winning handily at No. 1 singles over Jessica Siebel, 6-0, 6-3. Szegedi partnered with Nida Waseem to win at No. 1 doubles and help BC win the crucial doubles point. Waseem won at No. 2 singles in a three-set dual, 3-6, 6-0, 6-4.
Senior Morgan Landes and freshman Caitlin Arnould improved their dual-meet record to 2-1 with an 8-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
The Eagles will attempt to continue their streak against Ivy League foes tomorrow afternoon when they host Dartmouth at 1:00.
