
Zavisza Earns Rookie of the Week

Wakefield, Mass. - Freshman Becky Zavisza has been named the Hockey East Rookie of the Month for November the league office announced on Thursday afternoon. Zavisza now ranks third on the team in scoring, totaling 10 points; seven goals and three assists in 11 games this season.
Zavisza is tied for the team-lead in goals with seven. Zavisza also leads the team in game-winning goals, tallying three out of the four game-winning goals so far this season.
In the month of November, Zavisza averaged a point a game over the team's six game span. Zavisza notched the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Eagles their first-ever win over the University of New Hampshire Wildcats in the beginning of November. Zavisza scored her third gamewinner, the second of the month, over the University of Connecticut as the Eagles defeated the Huskies, 2-1.
In the Eagles most recent game against Quinnipiac, Zavisza had a career-high night leading all scorers with three points; one goal and two assists.
Zavisza was also named to the Hockey East honor roll this week. This marks the third time she has received this recognition this season.
The Eagles return to Hockey East action this weekend as they travel to the University of Connecticut on Saturday and host the Providence Friars on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Eagles now stand at 4-3-4 overall and 3-1-1 in league play.
