Swimming and Diving Split at Fordham

Bronx, N.Y. - The Boston College women's swimming and diving team collected a convincing 153-88 victory at Fordham as the teams earned a split in the Bronx, N.Y. The men fell to the Rams 154.5-84.5.
The Byron sisters, Caroline and Elizabeth, led the way on the women's side. Caroline finished first in the 200-yard freestyle and second in the 100-yard freestyle. Elizabeth also earned points for the Eagles by finishing first in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle. The two combined with Kelly Leahey and Elizabeth Snyder to take first in the 400-yard freestyle relay as well.
Torey Thelin won the 200-yard butterfly and Tanya Suryoutomo finished second in the 200-yard backstroke in addition to being a part of the 400-yard medly relay win with Carolyn Bowman and Holly Boucher.
Jennifer Rhines continued to have a successful season on the diving board, finishing first in the one and three meter diving event.
On the men's side, Andrew Faughnan, Matt Northrup, and Daniel Kollar finished first, second and third respectively in the 100-yard freestyle. The trio, along with Jeffrey Benson also won the 400-yard freestyle with a time of 3:16.49.
The women will compete at Northeastern Friday at 4 p.m., while the men host Providence Tuesday at 6 p.m
