Glenn Allen, Va. - Boston College senior midfielder Kristen Madden (Concord, N.H.) was the lone Eagle on the 2005 Dartfish/NFHCA Division I All-America team as announced today by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). Madden, who was a second team selection last two years ago, is making her second appearance on the first team this year.
The NFHCA selects three teams of 16 members each from the list of winners from five Regional All-America teams. First team members from the Midatlantic Region, the Mideast Region, the Northeast Region, the South Region, and the West Region were eligible for the national All-America team.
Madden was an All-ACC first team selection in Boston College's inaugural year of competition in its new league this season. She scored a team-high 32 points on 12 goals and a team-best eight assists. She is a four-time NFHCA Northeast Regional All-American. This is her third appearance as a national All-American and her second on the first team.
Madden finishes her career with 18 goals and 23 assists for 59 points. She played in and started all 86 games during her four-year career.
Under first-year head coach Ainslee Lamb, this year's Eagles finished the season at 13-7 overall, qualifying for their third consecutive NCAA Tournament.
