Swimming and Diving Sinks Colgate

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Andrew Faughnan and Caroline Byron led the way for their respective teams as men's and women's swimming and diving picked up a win over Colgate at the Flynn Complex Pool. The men won 165-136, while the women defeated the Raiders 161-138.5.
Faughnan won three individual events for the Eagles, the 50, 100 and 200-yard freestyle. He also joined with Matt Northrup, Thomas Martz and Daniel Kollar to earn first in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Martz also collected points by winning the 100-yard butterfly and grabbing second in the 200-yard butterfly.
Billy Schwitter helped the Eagles continue their dominance in the freestyle competitions by taking first in the 500 and 1000-yard events.
Christopher Wilson-Byrne continued to perform well by winning the one and three-meter diving events.
On the women's side, Caroline Byron earned first in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle, in addition to gaining first as the anchor leg of the 200-yard freestlye medley relay along with Megan Hurd, Kelly Leahey and sister Elizabeth Byron.
Leahey garnered second-place points in the 200 and 500-yard freestyle events, while Torey Thelin earned first in the 200-yard butterfly. Mari Wunschel also finished in first in the 400-yard individual medley.
Both teams will be in action again next Friday when they take on Williams at 7 p.m. at the Flynn Complex.
