
Women's Ice Hockey Ties Niagara

Buffalo, N.Y. - The Eagles tied the University of Niagara Purple Eagles, 1-1 in Buffalo, N.Y. The Eagles now stand at 2-0-3 overall.
Boston College out shot the Purple Eagles, 49-18, over four periods of play. There was strong play from both goalies as BC's Alison Quandt made 17 saves and Niagara's Nikki Rudy made 48.
The first two periods remained scoreless until BC's Krystal Strassman scored first in the beginning of the third period putting the Eagles up, 1-0. Niagara would eventually strike back later in the third period with just under 16 minutes left in the game as Chelsea Donovan put the puck in net. Neither team would score for the remainder of the game, including in overtime as both goalie's protected the net well.
Boston College went 0 for 8 on the power play and Niagara went 0 for 4.
Boston College returns to Hockey East play on Friday, Nov. 4 as they take on New Hampshire in Durham and return home to take on the Wildcats on Saturday. The puck drops at 7 p.m.
