No. 14 Women's Basketball Powers Past Pittsburgh

BOSTON (AP) - Aja Parham scored six of her career-high 18 points in Boston College's 14-0 run in the opening minutes, helping the 14th-ranked Eagles coast to a 72-55 win over Pittsburgh Saturday.
Clare Droesch had 17 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for Boston College (15-3, 6-1 Big East). It marked the Eagles' 13th straight win over Pittsburgh.
Kathrin Ress added 12 points and Brooke Queenan had 10 for the Eagles. BC leading scorer Jessalyn Deveny missed the game with a strained right Achilles' tendon.
Marcedes Walker had 20 points and Jennifer Brown 16 to lead the Panthers (11-8, 3-5), who committed 26 turnovers.
BC, which lost 71-60 at home against No. 8 Rutgers on Wednesday, scored 14 unanswered points to take a 16-2 lead a little over 7 minutes into the game. BC hit seven of its first 10 shots, while the Panthers made 1 of 7.
The Eagles led 34-22 at halftime. Pittsburgh closed to nine points twice in the second half, but each time BC quickly pushed its lead to double digits.
Game Notes:BC opened the game on a 16-2 run...the Eagles scored 19 points off 18 Pittsburgh turnovers in the first half...the Eagles have hit a three-point field goal in 43 consecutive games...Jessalyn Deveny missed her first game since March 1, 2003...Aja Parham started for the first time since February 14, 2004 - a 70-64 win at West Virginia...her 18 points set a new career high...Clare Droesch had 17 points and is now three shy of 1,000 for her career...BC has won 13 consecutive games against Pitt...the Eagles are now 9-1 in Conte this season.
