The women's ski team opened the season with a third-place finish in the slalom and a sixth-place show in the giant slalom at the UMass Carnival this past weekend.
Sophomore Kara Hoisington led the Eagles in each event, finishing fifth in Friday's giant slalom and earning sixth place in Saturday's slalom.
BC finished behind first-place Brown in the slalom and finished ahead of squads from Massachusetts, Smith, Colby/Sawyer, Babson, MIT, St. Anselm and Connecticut.
In the giant slalom, the women finished nine seconds ahead of Babson and also beat MIT, Connecticut and St. Anselm. Brown won both events.
Sophomores Molly McCary and Courtney Culnane finished in the top ten in the slalom, coming in ninth and 10th, respectively. Hoisington was the team's only skier to crack the top 10 in the giant slalom, as McCary finished in 20th place. Meghan Benedetto and Courtney Hollis finished in 21st and 22nd place, respectively, to round out the Eagles top performers.
