Men's Track Runs At Terrier All-Comer Meet

Senior co-captain Ashley Jefferson had a big day for the men's track team at the Terrier All-Comer Meet at the Boston University Pavilion on Saturday afternoon.
Jefferson competed in three events for the Eagles, finishing in the top six of each one. The senior ran to a fourth-place finish in the 55-meter dash, crossing the line in 6.66 seconds. He also had a successful day in the field events, earning a third-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 13.51 meters and a sixth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.26 meters.
The team revealed its strength in the middle distances on Saturday, earning the two top spots in the 1,000-meters. Freshman Patrick Mellea won the event in 2:30.17 with senior co-captain Trevor Rozier-Byrd right on his heels with a time of 2:30.36.
In the mile, BC had the sixth and seventh-place finishers in freshman Frank DiVittorio and sophomore Stephen Walsh. DiVittorio ran a 4:16.45 mile while Walsh was a step behind in 4:17.61.
Junior David Lucia and freshman Joseph Kwiatek also performed well for the Eagles, finish in sixth and seventh-place, respectively, in the shot put. Lucia marked 13.63 meters while Kwiatek was a shade behind in 13.41 meters.
Senior Drew Bouchard earned an eighth-place finish in the meet's longest event, the 3,000-meters, crossing the line in 8:30.46.
The Eagles will return to Boston University next Saturday when they run in the Terrier Classic at 11:30 a.m.
