Tom Horton To Be Honored By BC

Tom Horton '80 (track and field): Tom Horton was an elite middle distance runner during his years at Boston College. He holds the school record in the indoor mile, having run a 4:04.6 in 1980. Horton also ranks among BC's best in several other events.

He ranks third in the indoor 800 (1:50.6), third in the indoor 1000 (2:23.3); third in the outdoor 800 (1:49.38); and fourth in the 1500 (3:47.2). Horton was an NCAA qualifier in three events - 800, 1000 and mile - at the 1980 indoor championship. He chose to compete in the mile.

The honorees will be inducted in a ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 7 at the Sheraton Needham Hotel in Needham, Mass.
