
Women's Tennis Defeats Syracuse, 5-2

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Boston College took five of six singles matches en route to its 5-2 BIG EAST victory over Syracuse, Saturday, at the Drumlins Tennis Center. The victory marked the first conference win for the Eagles in 2004 and improves their record to 10-5 overall and 1-2 in league play. Syracuse is now 5-11 overall and 3-2 in conference action.
Despite losing all three doubles matches, the Eagles rebounded winning 5-of-6 in singles play. All five singles wins were earned in straight sets.
Szilvia Szegedi (Dumakeszi, Hungary) defeated Trine Juluissen, 6-3, 6-2, at no.1, while Nida Waseem (Karachi, Pakistan) beat Jessica Schlosser, 6-3, 6-0 at no.3. Morgan Landes (Huron, Ohio) knocked off Wei-Ming Leong at the four slot, 6-4, 6-3, while Lindsey Nash (Temecula, Calif.) blanked Kendyl Severino, 6-0, 6-0, and Emily Hellberg (Spring Lake, Mich.) defeated Marion Charlier, 6-2, 7-5.
