Men's Ski Team Takes 11th At USCSA Nationals

SUGARLOAF, Maine - The Boston College men's ski team wrapped up its 2004 campaign with an 11th-place overall finish at the USCSA Nationals, Thursday, March 4, through Saturday, March 6 at Sugarloaf Mountain.
Freshman Greg Avallon (Beverly, Mass.) and senior Dave Giulietti's (Farmington, Conn.) top-15 giant slalom performances paced the Eagles to a fifth-place giant slalom finish. In the giant slalom competition, Avallon led the Eagles with an eighth place finish while Giulietti followed close behind, finishing 13th.
In slalom racing, the Eagles tied for 18th place with St. Olaf. Senior Seth Therrien (Yakima, Wash.) and sophomore Andy Wallen (Park City, Utah) were the two BC slalom frontrunners.
Sierra Nevada claimed first place in the national championships, while Plymouth and British Columbia nailed down second and third-place finishes, respectively.
