Eagles Earn Runner-up Prize At USCSA Nationals

SUGARLOAF, Maine - Led by the top-20 finishes from freshman Kara Hoisington (Carrabassett Valley, Maine) and senior Erica Pylman (Old Forge City, N.Y.) in the giant slalom and slalom events, the Boston College women's ski team finished second at the USCSA Nationals Thursday, March 4, through Saturday, March 6.
The Eagles earned a third-place finish in the slalom competition, led by senior Jennifer Runco's (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) sixth-place performance. Hoisington followed close behind with a 12th-place finish, while Plyman finished 19th.
Five Eagles finished in the top-35 in giant slalom competition to pace the Eagles to a fourth place finish in the event. Hoisington and Pylman raced to top-20 finishes, at seventh and 18th, respectively. Freshman Courtney Culnane (Stratton Mountain, Vt.) rounded out the top-25, while Runco and Molly McCary (Edina, Minn.) finished 32nd and 35th, respectively.
Sierra Nevada claimed first place, while Massachusetts, Albertson, and Plymouth rounded out the top five at third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.
