SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Szilvia Szegedi (Dumakeszi, Hungary) and Emily Hellberg (Spring Lake, Mich.) captured singles victories and the Eagles took 2-of-3 doubles matches but suffered a 4-3 loss to San Diego, Tuesday, Mar. 2 in San Diego, Calif.
The 64th-ranked Eagles earned the doubles point with wins at the No.2 and No.3 spots. Allison Ashley (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) and Morgan Landes (Huron, Ohio) defeated Emma Murphy and Lena Baensch of USD, 8-2. Szegedi and freshman Lindsey Nash (Temecula, Calif.) defeated Jenny Brown and Tara Livesay, 9-8.
The Toreros earned singles wins at the No.2, No.3, No.4 and No. 5 to steal the victory. Boston College drops to 5-4 while 67th-ranked USD improves to 3-3.
