Eagle Fencers Finish Regular Season with Undefeated Day

The Boston College men and women's fencing teams finished their regular season in grand fashion. The men defeated Boston University and Dartmouth by scores of 20-7, then toppled New Hampshire, 22-5, and UMass, 21-6. The women's squad conquered Dartmouth and New Hampshire in 20-7 decisions, and defeated Boston University, 16-11 and UMass 19-8. The Eagles also survived Wellesley in the closest match up of the day, a 15-12 victory.
Senior Corban Rhodes (Canton, Ohio) led the way, compiling an 8-2 record in the foil division. Alex Rios (Ardsley, N.Y.) collected nine wins in 12 bouts in the epee category while junior Haynes Ko (Little Falls, N.J.) rang up nine wins in 10 attempts for the sabre unit.
On the women's side, senior Jessica Peakes (Kansas City, Mo.) garnered a 13-2 mark for the sabre group while Meghan O'Malley (foil) of Springfield, Va. and Ali DiQuollo (sabre) of Berkeley Heights, N.J. each went 12-2. For the Eagle epee contingent, junior Genevieve Peeples (Garden City, N.Y.) was 10-5.
