Deveny Named BIG EAST Co-Player Of The Week

Providence, R.I. - Boston College junior guard Jessalyn Deveny (Westford, Mass.) was named BIG EAST Co-Player of the Week Monday morning after her solid effort over the last week. The honor is her second selection of the season. It marks the fourth time overall that an Eagle player has been so honored by the conference office this season.
In a week that saw BC capture two road wins, Deveny averaged 21.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in wins over Georgetown and West Virginia. In the two games, Deveny hit 14-of-15 free throws and shot a combined 48.1 percent (13-for-27) from the field, including a 3-for-8 effort from three-point range.
In a 68-58 win over Georgetown, Deveny posted a season-high 26 points to lead all scorers. She added seven rebounds in the winning cause. In the 70-64 win over West Virginia, Deveny collected her fourth career double-double with 17 points and a career-high 12 rebounds.
Deveny is the team's leading scorer with 16.5 points per game. She has scored in double digits in 17 games this year and has posted 20 or more points eight times.
The 23rd-ranked Eagles (18-5/8-4 BIG EAST) host No. 2 Connecticut Saturday at 12 noon. The game will be televised live on NESN.
