Men's Ski Team Finish Second At Boston College Carnival

BROWNSVILLE, Vt. - Freshman Greg Avallon (Beverly, Mass.) and senior David Giulietti (Farmington, Conn.) placed in the top ten in slalom and giant slalom competition helping the Boston College men's ski team earn a second-place overall performance at the Boston College Carnival held at Ascutney Mountain over the weekend.
Plymouth State won the event capturing first place in slalom and giant slalom racing. The Eagles were the runner-up in slalom competition and took third place, behind Babson College, in the giant slalom. Babson placed fourth in slalom racing.
Giulietti placed fourth in the slalom event followed by senior Seth Therrien (Yakima, Wash.), who placed fifth and Avallon, sixth. Sophomore Andrew Wallman (Park City, Utah), freshman Thatcher Merrill (Wilton, N.H.) and senior Jason Duran (Maple Glen, Minn.) all placed within the top 20 in that event.
In giant slalom racing, Avallon finished third to lead all BC competitors. He was followed by Giulietti (eighth) and Merrill (ninth).
Boston College is back in action this weekend when they travel to Newbury, N.H. for slalom competition at the Colby Sawyer College Carnival on Saturday, Feb. 14. The Eagles will travel to Henniker, N.H. on Sunday for giant slalom racing hosted by St. Anselm College.
