Providence, R.I. -- Full session tickets for the 2005 BIG EAST Women's Basketball Championship Presented By State Farm, scheduled for March 5-8 at the Hartford Civic Center, are currently on sale via Ticketmaster and the Hartford Civic Center box office.
Package tickets -- admission to all 11 games of the championship -- are priced at $125.00 if purchased by January 14, 2005. Tickets purchased after the advance discount deadline of January 14 will be sold at the face value of $150.00 per package.
"The Conference is excited to be able to offer this discount to the loyal fans of BIG EAST women's basketball who have supported this event throughout the years," said BIG EAST Commissioner Michael Tranghese. "The early tickets sales allow fans to get a discount on the ticket package."
To charge tickets by phone, call Ticketmaster at (860) 525-4500, (203) 624-0033, or (413) 733-2500. In addition, tickets can be purchased on-line by logging on to the Hartford Civic Center website at www.hartfordciviccenter.com or Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com.
Finally, tickets can be purchased at the Hartford Civic Center box office from noon-5 p.m. weekdays. For weekend events, the box office will be open four hours prior to the start of the event. All ticket purchases are subject to additional convenience fees.
The 2004 BIG EAST Championship at the Hartford Civic Center marked the first year that the tournament was not played on the campus of a member institution, and as recently announced, will continue to serve as the venue through 2009. The four-day championship will include 12 BIG EAST teams that will be seeded according to their regular-season finish. The winner of the conference championship earns the league's automatic bid to the 64-team NCAA Division I Championship.
Last year, Boston College won its first-ever BIG EAST Championship in program history with a 75-57 win over Rutgers.
