No. 14 Women's Basketball Cruises Past Colonials

BOSTON (AP) - Brooke Queenan had 19 points and seven rebounds to lead 14th-ranked Boston College to its eighth straight win, 79-60 over George Washington on Thursday night.
The Eagles (9-1) opened a 14-3 lead just 3 minutes into the game and led by 18 points at the half.
Jessalyn Deveny scored 17 points and Kathrin Ress 14 for BC. Anna Montanana led the Colonials (6-4) with 19 points.
After George Washington closed the gap to 19-16 on Kimberly Beck's basket 6 minutes into the first half, the Eagles took control with a 23-7 run over the next 13:23. During the run, BC scored 11 straight points, with Queenan scoring four points and Aja Parham three.
BC shot 54.8 percent in the first half and led 45-27 at halftime.
Game Notes: The Eagles hit their first six shots of the game - including three-point field goals from co-captains Clare Droesch and Jessalyn Deveny - during a 14-3 run to open the game...all five BC starters scored in the game's first 2:26...Droesch's trey 11 seconds into the game marked the 35th consecutive contest in which the Eagles have made a three-pointer...the Eagles outrebounded the Colonials 23-9 in the first half...BC has held a halftime lead in every game this season...Deveny has scored in double-figures in every game this season, and 12 in a row dating back to last year...BC shot better than 50 percent from the field for the fifth consecutive game.
