
Deborah Spillane Earns Rookie Of The Month

Boston College forward Deborah Spillane earned ITECH Hockey East Rookie of the Month honors in an announcement made by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon. Spillane is the second Eagle to receive the accolade this season. Last month Sarah Feldman took home the award for her solid performances in October.
In the past month BC has posted a 2-3-1 record. Spillane has led the Eagles with four goals and five assists over the six games. The freshman is the team leader in points with 15 on six goals and nine assists. She is also tied for third in the league with nine assists.
Spillane had her second three-point game of the season on Sunday, November 21 when BC defeated Quinnipiac 7-4. She notched two goals and one assist in the victory. Spillane also plays a pivotal role on the Eagles' power-play. She is tied for second in the conference with five power-play goals on the year.
Colleen Harris was the runner-up for the honor with her four goals and five assists in November.
BC (3-7-1) will host Providence on Friday, December 3 in Hockey East action. The puck drops at 7 p.m. at Kelley Rink.
