CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The 18th-ranked Boston College women's basketball team will open the 2004-05 campaign with an exhibition game against Team Concept, Inc. on Wednesday, November 10 at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free.
The Eagles are coming off one of the most successful seasons in program history. In 2003-04, BC was 27-7 overall, winning a school-record number of games. In addition, the team won the school's first-ever BIG EAST Women's Basketball Championship.
Advancing to the NCAA Sweet 16 for the second consecutive year, Boston College is looking not only to defend its BIG EAST crown, but also to advance to a new level of NCAA postseason play.
Preseason All-BIG EAST selection Jessalyn Deveny (Westford, Mass.) and fellow co-captain Clare Droesch (Rockaway Beach, N.Y.) will lead an experienced team on its quest, which officially begins with the Spartan Classic at Michigan State November 21-22.
