Volleyball Falls To Syracuse

The Boston College volleyball team fell to Syracuse (23-5, 6-1) in Big East action on the road tonight 3-1(26-30, 30-23, 30-22, 30-21). Katie Andersen led the Eagles with a team-high 16 kills in the match.
The Eagles dominated the opening game. The team completed 24 kills on 48 attempts for a stellar attacking percentage of .375. BC committed only six attacking errors and took a 30-26 victory to start off the match.
Katie Andersen had another solid performance for BC. The senior recorded 16 kills on 37 attempts for a hitting percentage of .324. Andersen also added one service ace and six digs on the match.
BC was unable to maintain its momentum in the next three games. The Orange out-hit the Eagles in the final three games to take the match from BC.
Shardai Davis had an impressive match for the Eagles. The sophomore put down 11 kills on 20 attempts with one error for an attacking percentage of .500. Defensively, Davis also looked strong with two block solos and two block assists on the night.
Freshman Kelsey Johnson also had a big night with 14 kills, while Dorota Niemczewska added 13 kills for the Eagles.
The Eagles (17-11, 3-4) will continue their road trip on Sunday when they travel to Notre Dame to face the Fighting Irish at 2 p.m. in Big East action.
