Two Women's Soccer Players Named Academic All-District

Sophomores Heather Ferron and Jenny Maurer were named to the Verizon/CoSIDA Academic All-America Women's Soccer District 1 Team. Ferron was named to the first team and Maurer to the second.
Last season, Ferron earned BIG EAST All-Rookie honors and was named to the SoccerBuzz All-Northeast Freshman Team. This season, she has appeared in 17 games, starting 13, notching four points on one goal and two assists. The Brookfield, Wis. native is a double-major in Mathematics and Physics.
Maurer, voted by her teammates as BC's 2003 Rookie of the Year, has started all 19 games for BC this season. The East Longmeadow, Mass. native has 15 points on four goals and seven assists in the 2004 campaign. On October 4, Maurer was honored as BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, ECAC Player of the Week and was named to the SoccerBuzz Team of the Week. She is an Elementary Education major.
The No. 19 Eagles play in the BIG EAST Championship semifinals tomorrow night against No. 2 Notre Dame. The contest will be played at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Conn., and will be aired tape-delayed on College Sports Television (CSTV) on November 6 at 5:30 p.m.
